ASHFORD AUTUMN
ASHFORD ACRES INN
Cynthiana, Kentucky

We chose Ashford Acres Inn, in Cynthiana, Kentucky, as the backdrop to our styled bridal shoot for its rich history and welcoming warmth.  Beautifully constructed in 1858, this home later became a hospital for wounded soldiers during the Civil War. This moment in time is what inspired our love story between our bride, Laurel Teagan Williams and her groom, Christopher Ryan Gallagher. We painted a picture of the bride’s grandmother being a nurse on this estate, four generations prior. It was on this historic land where she met her husband who was a young, injured soldier. She stood by his side through his recovery and they quickly fell in love. The bride wanted to honor her family’s heritage and chose to start the next chapter of her own love story where her grandmother’s began so long ago.

Our design vision for this styled shoot was inspired by our desire to bring color back to midwest wedding design. We began with a soft yet stunning color palette  of dusty rose, soft blush, earthy reds, caramels and golden hues gave a romantic and serene sophistication to the foundation of the entire design. The wild, organic form arrangements were balanced with a delicate whimsy of accent blooms and brought together with textural dimension.

The tablescape was designed with understated elegance and simplicity in mind. Subtly textured white-washed dinnerware balanced the rustic nature of the wooden dining table. Modern gold flatware offered an elegant juxtaposition to the antique brass candlesticks that accompanied. A variety of stylish vintage-inspired glassware was selected incorporating frosted ombré high-ball glasses, gold gilded champagne flutes and embossed lavender drinking glasses. Luxurious velvet and vintage wool textiles added visual softness through the selection of minimalist, dusty rose, velvet chairs and ornamental rugs.
